Community
Projects & Appeals

As we continue to grow we aim to increase the reach and impact of our project. We are always looking at ways in which to grow and make our services better for the people that use them.

On this page, you will find our appeals that we need community help with. This is your opportunity to get involved in the creation of new projects that will have a long-lasting effect on the people that use them. Some are very large projects and some are smaller but every single bit of help matters. We cannot do this alone.

If you would like to help with any of these projects please get in touch via

novacitycentre@gmail.com

Mission Minibus

We are seeking help towards the goal of getting a minibus. A vehicle like this would be so great for our organisation. Enabling us to transport our alternative provision students to aid attendance targets, take our dance teams to competitions and events, and help our Nova Arts college students attend learning experiences to help with their qualifications.  For us the usage cases are endless.

We are seeking partners to help with the costs of purchasing or leasing a minibus.

Typical current lease costs range from £700 - £900 per month.

Leasing contracts  - 3 to 5 years.

We are offering marketing space on the Minibus throughout the length of use. We are open to multiple businesses supporting this effort.

Nova Arts Studio build

Nova Arts is going from strength to strength. As we build our reputation for being the most successful performing arts school locally, more and more students are wanting to join. We have planned for this capacity increase. Nova Arts is situated above our Barnsley activity centre and occupies the first floor. There is a second floor with enough space for more studios and classroom space.

We need to renovate these spaces to get them ready for the intake of September 2024. We will be launching a full appeal in order to complete this work.  The first-floor cost in the region of £50,000 and we will be looking to raise this amount of money.

There will be opportunities to sponsor studios, including the ones already built. Becoming a corporate sponsor of the college will help secure the future of many young performers for years to come.

Community Garden

NovaCity has recently taken over as a disused allotment site around the corner from our Rotherham building. The site is in need of clearance and complete renovation. Our alternative provision groups will be taking the lead on this work but the clearance is urgent.

After that, we are seeking help with tools and equipment to help the group grow fruits and vegetables as part of their learning experience. Our aim is to grow and donate to food banks and other projects where healthy food would be beneficial. We also hope to sell some produce to make the site sustainable. We just need a start.

If you have any unwanted gardening equipment and would like to donate it to our community garden project please get in touch. You can also drop items off at our Rotherham building.
