COVID-19 UPDATE 27/11/2020
Due to the latest guidance and the tier system we just want to update you on what's going to happen on the 2nd.
Rotherham well be opening as usual. Nothing will change compared to the last time we reopened. All measures will remain in place.
Barnsley will remain closed until we get clarification from the government. This is due to a new stipulation in the guidance stating trampoline parks must close. Fortunately for us, the venue isn't all trampoline park and our activities are solely for under 18's so classes and physical activity can still take place. How we do that so we tick all the government requirements is the bit we are waiting on and they quite simply may just say NO, and we will stay closed.
We are going to fight this as best we can as guidelines for the leisure industry don't seem to make much sense. We aren't the only ones penalised by these new tougher restrictions and we know the industry is suffering so I hope we can all work together to help get an agreeable outcome.
If you have made a booking for Barnsley since the app went live again you can request a refund or a credit to come to the Rotherham site instead.
Like always if you have any questions, get back to us on here and we will do our best to answer them.
Thanks again for all the support during this year. Can't wait to see you back at the centre.
COVID-19 UPDATE 23/11/2020
As we come out of another Lockdown we need to remind customers of the measures in place to try and keep everyone safe.
The government announced today (23/11/2020) that when lockdown ends gyms and leisure providers can open back up. We are obviously delighted to get this news.
Please follow the rules and advice below on your return to Nova.
Firstly we must stress that if you have been in contact with anyone displaying symptoms of Coronavirus, anyone that has tested positive for Coronavirus or if you are displaying symptoms yourself, please do not come to the buildings.
Due to social distancing measures, customer numbers in the buildings will need to monitored and restricted. The current guidance is 2 meters where possible and 1 meter plus as the current limit on social distancing. Class sizes have been limited to accommodate this requirement.
These restrictions will transfer to each individual activity. Limited spaces will be available to book in advance. Online booking is necessary for entry to the building. If you have no prior booking you will be turned away.
Our new online booking system is available now. We require everyone to create a parent account for payments and a child account for each child for booking before attending for the first-time post lockdown. Please sign up as soon as possible through the app, so that you can book as there is limited space. Instructions can be found on the BOOKING page.
We will not be accepting bookings or cash at reception. The reception will also be adapted with screens to protect staff and queuing areas will be installed. Parents will be asked to drop off children whilst maintaining social distancing requirements. The timetable will allow parents and carers of younger children to stay with them as usual. You will be asked for your confirmation and be registered as attending the building.
We will be keeping records of who enters the building through the booking system, to aid, if necessary, with the contact tracing should a local outbreak take place. By registering an account and entering the building to give us permission to do this. This replaces the previous waiver and contact from used to access the building before.
The COVID Secure guidance for workplaces will be put in place to ensure the safety of our staff and the customers. See Below
A contactless temperature check will be conducted. If your temperature reads above 37.8°C you will not be permitted entry.
Face coverings must be worn indoors if waiting for a child. NovaCity Ltd will NOT be providing these. We would kindly like to ask you to wear a face-covering whilst in the building, especially in waiting areas. Children participating in activities can wear a face-covering if they feel it is safe to do for them and everyone else in attendance.
Hand sanitiser products to be used on the entrance to the building. NovaCity will provide this. 70% Alcohol Sanitiser will be provided. Hand soap will also be available in all bathrooms and regular hand washing will be encouraged using the CATCH IT, KILL IT, BIN IT protocol.
Increased cleaning before each class will be in place to disinfect any equipment. Breaks in classes have been imposed to allow this to happen. Lessons may be impacted by this cleaning regime.
There may be staggered start times or social distancing queue measures for classes, to minimise congregation in reception areas and to ensure cleaning schedule can be met.
Potential for different entrances and exits to minimise any congestion at reception. This will be clearly marked.
Reduced or removed café operations. We will still aim to provide a minimal shop menu for water, other beverages and snacks for customers. Again, we would like to avoid cash where possible.
This advice may change at any time going forwards and be enforced and influenced by local authorities or the central government advice.
We will continue to provide you updates so we can all be in the best position to open and remain open safely.
